Areas of Expertise

Financing development
Most development projects and initiatives confront the challenge of finding the necessary resources to assure their long-term sustainability. We assist development organizations to identify their funding requirements, design their financial sustainability strategies, and facilitate their implementation.

Additionally, we possess a wide experience in participatory processes focused on generating capacity for managing financial resources, and on implementing inter-institutional alliances.

Environmental Economics
Traditionally, economic analysis has been absent from environmental and natural resource management. To cope with this fact, we have become specialized in the application of the following instruments: economic assessment methodologies, cost/benefit analysis, financial and economic evaluations, economic instruments for environmental management, and the design of natural resources management systems. These tools are applied to the analysis and evaluation of environmental policies, natural resource management, and to environmental impact studies for infrastructure, social and economic development projects.

Sustainable Tourism
Sustainable Tourism represents an alternative for preserving the natural and cultural resources while generating economic benefits for the local population. Our work with national and international organizations has generated an important experience in the design, implementation, and management of sustainable tourism programs for private preserves and public areas. We utilize tools such as: market analysis, business plan development, tourism development strategies, Limits of Acceptable Change, among others.

Additionally, we participate as partners in the implementation and operation of a sustainable tourism program with Achuar indigenous communities in the Makusar region of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
